Bioluminescent bay, where the sea sparkles with light

Have you heard about bioluminescence? This fantasy-like spectacle has enthralled travellers for years. The tides, which shine typically in the darkness- exist throughout the world.

Sometimes the glowing water seems like tiny twinkling stars suspended in the ocean. Other times, they shine with extraordinary brightness.

The light in question is an ethereal blue that flashes along the edge of a wave as it rolls into shore. So, why does the sea sparkle?

The phenomenon is caused by bioluminescent plankton, tiny creatures floating in the sea that have the ability to emit light when disturbed by a predator or motion.
