Chandrayaan-3's Pragyan rover captures Vikram lander on lunar surface
India's Pragyan rover photographed its mothership, the Vikram lander as the two continue their ground-breaking exploration halfway through the Chandrayaan-3 mission.
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) released black and white images of Vikram, showing the lunar lander propped up on its legs against the dust-covered lunar surface. The pictures were taken when the rover had covered a distance of approximately 15 metres.
Sharing the pictures, ISRO wrote, "Beyond Borders, Across Moonscapes: India's Majesty knows no bounds! Once more, co-traveller Pragyan captures Vikram in a Snap! This iconic snap was taken today around 11 am IST from about 15 m."
Before this, ISRO released the first photos of Vikram lander since its historic landing on August 23. They were taken by the Navigation Camera onboard the rover.
