ISRO's solar mission Aditya-L1 completes 4th Earth-bound manoeuvre
India's first space-based mission, Aditya-L1 is on its way towards the L1 point in space, 1.5 million kilometres away from the Earth.
In a remarkable achievement, the spacecraft successfully completed its fourth Earth-bound manoeuvre. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) took to social media to share the update.
"The fourth Earth-bound manoeuvre (EBN#4) is performed successfully. ISRO’s ground stations at Mauritius, Bengaluru, SDSC-SHAR, and Port Blair tracked the satellite during this operation, while a transportable terminal currently stationed in the Fiji islands for Aditya-L1 will support post-burn operations. The new orbit attained is 256 km x 121973 km," read ISRO' post on Twitter, now called 'X.'
Earlier, the space probe took a selfie and images of Earth and the Moon while on its way to Lagrange Point 1. The camera onboard captured the images of its payload, Visible Emission Line Coronagraph (VELC) and SUIT instruments.
