ISRO's upcoming top missions you should know
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has marvelled space enthusiasts with its continuous space programs. Thanks to the scientists at ISRO, India is cementing its position as a dominant space power.
On August 2023, India became the first country to safely land a craft in the moon's south pole region. The success of the Moon mission also boosted ISRO's confidence to conquer new frontiers. The space agency continues its ambitious journey, planning advanced interplanetary explorations, satellite deployments, and technological advancements.
Launched on September 2, the Aditya L1 is the first Indian space mission to study the Sun. The spacecraft is aimed to be placed in an orbit around the Lagrange point 1 (L1) of the Sun-Earth system, about 1.5 million km from Earth, where the gravitational effects of both bodies cancel each other out.
As per the latest update, the Aditya L1 mission has covered over 10 lakh kilometers in space and will reach its new home at L1 point in the first week of January 2024. The mission aims to observe solar activities and their effects on space weather in real-time.
