
Lahiru Thirimanne announces retirement from international cricket

In a heartfelt announcement, former Sri Lanka skipper Lahiru Thirimanne bid adieu to his illustrious international career, leaving behind a legacy that earned him immense recognition over the past 13 years.

The left-handed batsman announced his decision to retire through social media and wrote, "Absolute honor to have the opportunity to represent the country. Thanks a lot for the 13 years of amazing memories and well wishes thru out my journey. See you on the other side."

Thirimanne made his debut for Sri Lanka in 2010 and played a significant role for the team in all three formats of the game.

Throughout his career, the cricketer featured in 44 Test matches, amassing a total of 2088 runs with an average of 26.4. His performance included three centuries and ten-half centuries.
