Treating Pathankot attack at par with 26/11, President Barack Obama on Tuesday sent out a clear message to Pakistan, asking it to punish its perpetrators amid the US vow to stand with India against terror threats from Pakistan-based groups like JeM, LeT and Dawood ‘company’. "They (Obama and Modi) called for Pakistan to bring the perpetrators of the 2008 Mumbai and 2016 Pathankot terrorist attacks to justice," a joint statement issued after the Obama-Modi meeting at the White House said.

Popular instant messaging app WhatsApp will soon be getting GIF support. According to a report by The Next Web citing @WABetaInfo's recent tweet, a Twitter account that keeps track of the latest WhatsApp beta updates stated that the latest iOS beta version 2.16.7.1 of the WhatsApp will have support to autoplay GIFs. The report further suggested that users will also be able to embed GIFs directly into their chats.

A city-based construction company has filed an FIR against Congress president Sonia Gandhi alleging that her party has not cleared its payment for constructing Rajiv Gandhi Institute for Development Studies. In a major blow to the state unit of the party, the FIR also names former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy, former state home minister Ramesh Chennithala and KPCC (Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee) chief VM Sudheeran as other accused.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday promised to intensify a nationwide anti-terror clampdown, a day after a Hindu priest was hacked to death by IS jihadists in Bangladesh, which has seen a series of brutal attacks by Islamists on minorities and secular activists. "If they (militants) think they could turn Bangladesh upside down, they are wrong...they will be exposed to justice in the soil of Bangladesh and their patrons will also not be spared," Hasina said in the parliament.

Despite taking strong steps, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has failed to stop fast melting of snow and it turning black at Rohtang Pass this year. The snow at 13,050ft high mountain pass is not only melting faster than the previous years, it has also turned black again.
