These pictures show how flash floods wreaked havoc in Himachal

Several buildings and cars were swept away by flash floods triggered by the massive rains at Bhagsu Nag area near Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. Locals and tourists capturesd many pictures and videos of cars and bikes, which were being swept away by flash floods. "Due to inclement weather and heavy rains, all incoming flights to Dharamshala airport at Gaggal have been cancelled," said airport's traffic in-charge Gaurav Kumar. The heavy rains also damaged a bridge on the Mandi-Pathankot highway after which traffic was halted on both sides. Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur to take stock of the situation. Several teams of NDRF and other concerned department launched rescue operation in the affected areas. Athorities urged locals and tourists to refrain from going near the river banks to avoid any untoward incident.
