India won by 26 runs during a closely contested one day match against Hong Kong in Dubai on September 18, 2018. Hong Kong scored 259 runs during the Asia Cup group A match. India's performance was sub-par as their batting order crumbled by the attack led on from Hong Kong spinners. Shikhar Dhawan, who had not been performing well in the previous tests, found his footing and smashed 127 runs off 120 balls in partnership with Ambati Rayadu who contributed with his own 60. Their performance alone escalated the Indian side as they were able to put the match away with 285 for seven wickets. Escaping an almost major upset, India will now face Pakistan while Hong Kong is out of the tournament after losing to Pakistan in their first match.
