He was earlier seen as Shamsuddin Atka Khan, as a Mughal advisor to Akbar in the movie Jodhaa Akbar. Also, he has played Akbar in the TV show Shubh Din Aayo, Jahangir and Aurangzeb in movie 1857and Sarja respectively. And this is the fourth time, he will be portraying the role of a Mughal emperor. Talking about his role, Raza said, "I have worked on television and love the medium for its connect with the audience.
