Raksha Bandhan 2023: The spiritual bond of brotherhood
Read MoreThe festival of Raksha Bandhan, celebrated in the month of Shravan on full moon day, commemorates the sacred loving relationship between brothers and sisters. On this day, brothers and sisters reinstate the commitment to their pure relationship.
Raksha Bandhan is a sacred thread that binds us in God’s Love, liberates us from all the bondages of the body and the physical world, and fills us with feelings of safety and protection. Let our feelings be pure and elevated for every soul.
Sisters tie a decorated string around the wrists of their brothers, thereby metaphorically strengthening the bond of love that exists in their relationship and return, the brothers make a promise to the sisters to safeguard them against all threats, whether physical or financial.
Raksha Bandhan has a deeper spiritual explanation. The Tilak is a symbol of awakening one’s awareness of ‘Soul-consciousness’. It is also a sign of being victorious over “body consciousness” and the web of vices that influenced us to perform negative actions.
