Morocco earned a surprise victory over South Korea to secure the country's first win at a Women's World Cup. It was striker Ibtissam Jraidi who scored the only goal of the match in a 1-0 victory as Morocco became the third debutants to win a game at this tournament. The game was filled with significant landmarks. Defender Nouhaila Benzina made history by becoming the first player to wear a hijab while competing at a senior-level global tournament. A FIFA ban on playing in religious head coverings in its sanctioned games for 'health and safety reasons' was overturned in 2014 following advocacy from activists, athletes and football officials. The 25-year-old has not yet addressed the subject with her pictures going viral online from the match. However, she has shared several posts on social media highlighting her milestone.
